COCOON WINS 2 RED DOT AWARDS

We are thrilled to announce that two of our products have been announced as winners in this year’s Red Dot Awards: Product Design category!

Noted for our outstanding achievements, the Red Dot Awards are an internationally renowned winner label of the highest reputation – the international jury only awards this sought-after seal of quality to products that feature an outstanding design.

We are delighted that both of our key collaborative collections were recognised; Piet Boon for the PB BATH and John Pawson for the JP SET25THERM thermostatic bath set.

All of us here at COCOON are incredibly proud of these collaborations and in creating timeless simplicity with such revered creative visionaries for you to enjoy.

JP SET25THERM

JP SET25THERM

Designed by British Designer and minimalist visionary John Pawson – the JP SET25THERM is a thermostatic mixer, 2-way diverter, floor-mounted bath spout and round handshower set – presented in a stunning minimalist design.

Produced in AISI 316L marine grade stainless steel and in compliance with all major certifications – the set is 100% lead-free and eco-friendly with a high resistance to corrosion. It features a water-saving aerator, with the set fitted in combination with our advanced build-in system ‘BOX13’ for easy and accurate installation.

All components sit on one frame for efficient installation, with the ceramic cartridges easily accessed from the outside when the walls are closed. The set is also available to work in conjunction with the US plumbing system.

The set is available in brushed stainless steel, alongside two other colour options: Brushed Gold and Dark Grey. The PVD procedure is applied directly on the 316 brushed stainless steel – using highly innovative NANO anti-fingerprint and anti-bacterial technology.

PB BATH

The PB BATH is the result of a collaboration between revered Dutch Designer Piet Boon and COCOON. It is a unique freestanding bathtub, crafted by skilled artisans from one single block of stone or marble.

The tub sits at the intersection of space and function, providing the basis for a carefree, luxury bathing ritual. Its powerful volume is housed within a rounded rectangle, further enhanced by an ergonomic organic shape on the inside.

The double edge allows a solid wood shelf to be inserted precisely – resting on the inner edge of the bathtub – materials simultaneously contrasting and complementing one another.

A deliberate choice was made to increase its size, resulting in a spacious and comfortable haven – the wide surfaces emphasizing the finish of the stone through its broader canvas.

PIET BOON

COCOON has the pleasure of working with studio Piet Boon, one of the most renown Dutch design studios.

Piet Boon designs contemporary architecture, interiors and customised products for the international luxury market.
Piet Boon is responsible for the new COCOON taps, showers, basins and bathroom furniture collection.

The Piet Boon taps and showers will have a distinctive shape and will be available in matte “Gunmetal Black”, matte “Raw Copper” and matte “Brushed Stainless Steel” finishings. The taps breathe sophistication by simplicity due to the technology to operate the single lever mixers over 2 axes.

The basins will be made from precious marbles and natural stones in combination with high-end bathroom cabinets made by a German expert in his field kitchen producer.

JOHN PAWSON

British architect John Pawson CBE, who founded his firm of the same name in 1981, is often hailed as the father of modern architectural minimalism. Although a title he would most likely poke fun at, for almost forty years Pawson has championed nothingness as the most straightforward form of beauty.

During his lustrous career, simplicity as a philosophy is something he has explored in retail designs for Jil Sander, Calvin Klein, Christofer Kane and in various monasteries, churches, musea, residential projects, hotels and now a complete contemporary bathroom collection for COCOON.
